Outlook Mail – Office 365 – Dealing with SPAM and Junk Emails
How to deal with and Block SPAM email when using using Office 365 – Office 2013/16/19/21 Outlook
Rather than simply “deleting” spam or junk emails, it is a better option to mark these emails as “spam” or “junk” and “block” them in the future.
Here is the procure for doing so on the latest version of Outlook as supplied in Office 365. It is also applicable to Outlook as supplied in Office 2016/2019/21
- Highlight the email you wish to send to junk
2. Right-click the mouse or select the “junk” option in the top menu bar
3. Select “Junk” from the popup menu
4. Click on “Block Sender”
5. The popup box confirms that all future emails from that sender will now be automatically moved to the “Junk” folder. Simply click the “OK” button.
By Selecting the “Junk E-mail Options” from the menu, you can also set the severity of junk email filtering
From “No Automatic Filtering” to “Safe Lists Only”
Any email you DO NOT WANT to go to the junk folder should be added to the “Safe Senders” List
If you need to see which emails are in your “blocked” list, check in “Blocked Senders” tab
You can even choose to block emails at the domain or country level.
