Running older expired versions of Office for Mac (2016, 2013, 2011, 2008, 2004 etc) is becoming ever more problematic, especially if you want to upgrade to the latest Mac operating Systems …. Catalina or Big Sur

We have experienced corrupt Outlook databases and other compatibility issues, slowness, SWOD, hanging and crashes on client Macs running superseded versions of Office for Mac.

This has also been reported in blogs and the press, Office 2016 for Mac, macOS Sierra potential crash issues.

Although a fix for Outlook 2011 maybe forthcoming, neither Microsoft nor Apple seems to be in a hurry to fix the issue and instead, recommend upgrading Office to the latest versions. (Office 365 or Office 2019 )

Support Ended for the following versions of Outlook For Mac

• Microsoft Office 2011 – Support ended 1st September 2018
• Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Home and Student Edition – support ended 4/9/2013
• Microsoft Entourage for Mac – support ended  1/9/2007
  
• Microsoft Office for Mac Home and Student 2011 – support ended 1/10/2012
• Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 Service Pack 3 – support ended 10/10/2017

Office 2011 cannot even be downloaded and installed anymore, unless you have the original disks.
